We make sure you’ve got enough fuel for the day’s adventures - when we’re not sitting down for a meal, grab a few extra snacks or drinks to take with you on the next excursion. And hey, if you don’t like a specific food, let us know in advance. If we know prior to your visit we can plan for some delicious alternatives.
Our kitchen and staff are well equipped to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. This information will be requested during the reservation process, prior to arrival. Please call us with any additional questions or concerns.
River Mountain activities are designed for all abilities and skill levels. Whether you’re the next great or a never-have-I-ever, our professionally trained staff will be there to assist you at every step (or paddle or pedal).
Cabin sleeping arrangements are organized based on age group and gender. Restrooms and showers are located inside each cabin with towels, linens, and common toiletries provided by River Mountain.
Phones, tables, watches, and other tech devices are not allowed during the retreat. We will check your phone and other tech in during registration, securely store and charge it, and return it to you during check-out. It’s that easy.

FAQ & Commmon Questions
Age Groups
Guests are divided into age-appropriate co-ed groups, typically 10-13 years and 14-15 years.
Group Size
River Mountain is centered on the guest experience and impact. Our accommodations and activities are focused ona more boutique-style experience. Therefore, we limit group sizes to 20 guests per guide. We’ve found this helps to form tighter bonds with other guests, forge new friendships, and pack more activities into a single visit.
Who Attends
Young people from around the country and the globe visit us at River Mountain. Most guests come along and make new friends during their stay. If you do wish to come with a friend, please let us know and we’d be happy to coordinate any cabin and sleeping arrangement requests.

We believe in learning by doing. Getting outside, being hands on with nature, reflecting on experiences, and finding our own conclusions is fundamental to the River Mountain process.
