Where Could Brandon Aiyuk End Up In 2024?

A recent video surfaced of San Francisco 49er wide receiver stating that the team “doesn’t want him back” when speaking to his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels. That video has brought back the possibility that the 49ers decide they do not want to meet Aiyuk’s contract demands and would be willing to move off the 49er receiver. The 49ers could be willing to move Aiyuk if the negations continue to stall. They used a 1st round pick on Flroida wideout Ricky Pearsall and will be paying Deebo Samuel more than $24 million in the next two seasons. Samuel’s contract will almost be impossible to move so if the 49ers aren’t willing to negotiate with Aiyuk it might be time to shop him.

CBS Sports lays out the possible landing spots for Aiyuk:

  • Arizona Cardinals

    • 2024 Cap Space: $34 Million

  • Los Angeles Chargers

    • 2024 Cap Space: $20 Million

  • Washington Commanders

    • 2024 Cap Space: $36 Million

  • New England Patriots

    • 2024 Cap Space: $43 Million

  • Pittsburgh Steelers

    • 2024 Cap Space: $16 Million

All the spots above make sense for Aiyuk and they all are positive for his fantasy production. Obviously getting to play with Justin Herbert and be their #1 option in that offense would be the most ideal situation for Aiyuk and his fantasy managers but Aiyuk is the type of player that will assume the WR1 role in almost any offense.

The challenge to try to predict where he will get moved is the 49ers are not going to trade him to any team that they could possibly meet in the playoffs or one that is in the division unless the deal is too good to pass up. Aiyuk has been one of the bets recievers in the NFL the past two years and it’s hard to send a player of his caliber to another team in the division or conference. They also don’t have alot of leverage since other teams know that they could be looking to move him due to contract disputes. It’s a tough situation for both the 49ers and any prospective suitors.

From a dynasty perspective there isn’t a ton of risk in trading for Aiyuk. Either they pay Aiyuk and keep the roster the same where he can comfotably be a WR2 for your fantays team. They decide to trade Deebo which would open up more targets for Aiyuk and he challnges to be a WR1 in 2024. Or they trade Aiyuk and he becomes the WR1 option for another team. Either way you are sill getting a receiver with a very high WR2 type floor with a high upside. Here is his current dynasty value and recent deals involving the 49er star.

Who Is Coming From The UFL To The NFL?

The first UFL season is over, and it was the Birmingham Stallions who won their third-straight title with a 25-0 win over the San Antonio Brahmas. Now that spring football is over, the stars of the UFL can sign with NFL teams and participate in upcoming training camps. Here who has signed with an NFL team:

One player to watch for dynasty purposes could be running back Jacob Saylors. Saylors was an undrafted free agent in 2023. The former East Tennessee State running back has spent time with the Bengals and Falcons but has yet to make a regular-season roster. While at ETSU, Saylors played five seasons, appearing in 51 games. He rushed for 3,851 rushing yards on 608 carries (6.3 avg.) and 33 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 91 passes for 781 yards (8.6 avg.) and three receiving touchdowns.

Spending his spring playing in the UFL, Saylors shined for the St Louis Battlehawks, rushing for 460 yards and five touchdowns. He also added three touchdowns in the passing game. The intriguing part about Saylors is his landing spot. While Devin Singletary is expected to be the primary ball carrier for the Giants, the rest of the Giants’ depth chart features Eric Gray, Jashuan Corbin, and rookies Dante Miller and Tyrone Tracy Jr. There are a lot of unproven backs behind Singletary, which means a strong camp could see Saylors make the 53-man roster.

Elite 11 Finals is in the Books!

The 2024Elite 11 Finals is intended for top level rising senior quarterbacks (Class of 2025). 20 of the nationʻs top Class of 2025 signal callers were selected for the Elite 11 Finals. The participants in this years Elite 11 were:

  • 5-star QB Julian Lewis

    • School: Carrollton (Ga.)

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 10 (No. 2 QB)

    • Status: Committed to USC

Lewis, while not the most standout player at the Elite 11, showcased elite ball placement. Despite not fitting the prototypical quarterback build, he is a perfect match for Lincoln Riley’s system. His proficiency in up-tempo offenses is a promising sign for USC’s offense.

While he didn’t take home the MVP award, St. Clair demonstrated his potential as one of the more consistent passers at the event and easily the second best player. Scouts were impressed by his mechanics and his ability to layer the football. If you were to imagine a perfect quarterback prospect, St. Clair would be your prototype. He possesses the arm, frame, mobility, and intangibles that are highly promising for the quarterback position. It's a hopeful sign for Ohio State, potentially adding another dominant quarterback to their roster.

  • 5-star QB George MacIntyre (Out: Injury)

    • School: Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 16 (No. 4 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Tennessee

  • 5-star QB Matt Zollers

    • School: Royersford (Pa.) Spring-Ford

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 31 (No. 5 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Missouri

  • 4-star QB Husan Longstreet

    • School: Corona (Calif.) Centennial

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 34 (No. 6 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Texas A&M

Longstreet was a player I highlighted recently on the TDR newsletter and is becoming a favorite of mine. He was injured in a private workout Monday and could have pulled out of the event. Instead, he grinded through it and looked crisp all week. Scouts raved about his velocity and have mentioned that his velocity is already NFL-ready. He also looks excellent when throwing outside the pocket, and his ability to extend plays with his legs is one of his best strengths. When I dived into his tape, I noticed that his release was exceptional, and he showcased it at the event. He has the best release of any quarterback from this class that I have watched this off-season. It would not shock me to see him be a top-3 quarterback in the draft class by the end of his senior season.

  • 4-star QB Deuce Knight

    • School: Lucedale (Miss.) George County

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 54 (No. 7 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Notre Dame

Notre Dame may have finally hit on a quarterback recruit. Deuce Knight looked SPECIAL this week. The 4-star quarterback made highlight throw after highlight throw and showed off his athleticism all week. At 6-foot-4, 208 pounds, Knight is arguably the most athletic quarterback in the cycle. The coaches raved about his ability to show confidence all week, and there is not a throw he can’t make. Many feel that he will earn another star in his senior season.

  • 4-star QB Keelon Russell

    • School: Duncanville (Texas)

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 57 (No. 8 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Alabama

Russell won the event and was awarded the Elite 11 MVP Trophy after the event was over. He made recent headlines by flipping his commitment from SMU to Alabama. Now, he’s moving up the recruiting boards one event at a time. Russell was dominant at the event and could throw the football to all areas of the field. Scouts at the event gushed over his release and his ability to use different arm angles to get the football out. It won’t be long before this Alabama commit earns his 5th star.

  • 4-star QB Akili Smith Jr.

    • School: San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 101 (No. 9 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Oregon

  • 4-star QB K.J. Lacey

    • School: Saraland (Ala.)

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 113 (No. 10 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Texas

  • 4-star QB Ty Hawkins

    • School: San Antonio (Texas) Claudia Taylor Johnson

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 149 (No. 12)

    • Status: Committed to TCU

  • 4-star QB Ryan Montgomery

    • School: Findlay (Ohio)

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 188 (No. 13)

    • Status: Committed to Georgia

  • 4-star QB KaMario Taylor

    • School: Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 190 (No. 14 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Mississippi State

  • 4-star QB Kevin Sperry

    • School: Midwest City (Okla.) Guyer

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 236 (No. 18 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Oklahoma

  • 4-star QB Kevin Sperry

    • School: Midwest City (Okla.) Guyer

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 236 (No. 18 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Oklahoma

  • 4-star QB Bryce Baker

    • School: Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 267 (No. 21 QB)

    • Status: Committed to North Carolina

If you were looking for a sleeper in this group, it would be Baker. Many scouts and coaches said he was among the best passersmen in the entire group. He has some of the best mechanics of any quarterback at the event and challenged defenses by throwing in tight windows. He also protected the football and made significant decisions throughout the event. His IQ and awareness are his best attributes, and if he develops in his senior season, he’s a player to watch.

  • 4-star QB TJ Lateef

    • School: Orange (Calif.) Lutheran

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 277 (No. 24 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Nebraska

  • 4-star QB Luke Nickel’

    • School: Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 292 (No. 25 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Miami

    • On3 Industry Ranking: No. 674 (No. 42 QB)

    • Status: Committed to Arizona

  • 3-star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele

    • School: Ewa Beach (Hawaii) James Campbell
